Beta release, published for testing before launch. Subscriptions are not open yet: the software can be installed, but the modeling, reinforcement and drawing commands need an active license key, which will be available at launch.
This installer is not digitally signed yet. Windows SmartScreen may show a warning when you start it (“More info” → “Run anyway”). Check the SHA-256 value above first.
Compare the command's result with the SHA-256 value shown next to the file. If they differ, do not run the file; download it again from this page.
Requirements
AutoCAD or BricsCAD, with its own license. UNITAR STRUCT is a plugin and does not include the CAD software.
Windows 10 (version 1803 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit; on Linux, a distribution that runs BricsCAD. The software uses the system's curl and tar tools, present by default.
Installation goes into the current user's profile and needs no administrator rights.
An internet connection for activation and for periodic license validation. Between two validations the software can work offline for at most 7 days.
Compatibility
UNITAR STRUCT is tested on AutoCAD and on BricsCAD, Pro edition or higher.
AutoCAD LT and BricsCAD Lite are not suitable: they lack the 3D modeling the software relies on.
The software is not tested on products built on AutoCAD, such as Advance Steel or AutoCAD Architecture.
Installing on Windows
Close AutoCAD and BricsCAD.
Run the downloaded UnitarStruct-Setup file.
On the “Automatic loading” page, keep the CAD programs you want the plugin in ticked. For AutoCAD also keep “also trust the UNITAR STRUCT folders” ticked, otherwise AutoCAD asks for confirmation for every file.
Start the CAD program. The command line shows “UNITAR STRUCT” followed by the version.
Installing on Linux (BricsCAD)
In a terminal, in the folder where you downloaded the archive:
tar -xzf unitarstruct-1.0.3-linux-installer.tar.gz
cd unitarstruct-1.0.3-linux
./install.sh
The script installs into ~/.local/share/unitarsoft/unitarstruct and registers the plugin in the BricsCAD profiles it finds. It does not need root.
If the BricsCAD profile is not found, run it again with --support-dir followed by the user's “Support” folder.
Start BricsCAD. The command line shows “UNITAR STRUCT” followed by the version.
Activating the license
Run the UNITAR_ACTIVATE command and enter the license key you received by email. The activation window also opens by itself at the first command that needs a license.
UNITAR_LICENSE shows the license status, the date until which it is valid offline and the number of computers in use.
A license can be active on at most 2 computers of the same user. AutoCAD and BricsCAD on the same computer take a single seat.
To move the license to another computer, run UNITAR_DEACTIVATE on the old one; the seat is freed immediately.
Updates
Once a day the software checks for a new version and announces it in the command line. UNITAR_UPDATE downloads it, verifies its checksum and signature and prepares it; the new version becomes active the next time you start the CAD program. UNITAR_ROLLBACK goes back to the previous version.
Uninstalling
Run UNITAR_DEACTIVATE first to free the license seat. Uninstalling does not free it by itself.
Linux: run ~/.local/share/unitarsoft/unitarstruct/uninstall.sh.
Your settings are kept by default and your drawings are not touched.
Documentation and support
Help documentation is included in the kit. Usage conditions are on the Software license page and key delivery is described on the Digital delivery page. For installation or activation problems, email office@unitarsoft.com and include the CAD version, the operating system and the command line message. Do not send your license key.
