Basement walls

Basement walls in any direction, with variable height along ramps and cages taken over from the columns and walls above.

The basement level

The software treats basement levels and superstructure levels differently. A level entirely below zero is a basement; for a level that crosses zero you are asked once. The role is changed with STORY_ROLE_SET (Active level role, on the Levels & Grid tab).

Create the walls

CommandButtonWhat it does
BASEMENT_WALL_3DBasement wall 3DWalls from a polyline or from segments given by two points.
BWALL_CORNER_ZCorner Z (variable height)Changes the level of one end of the bottom or top edge: a wall of variable height.
BWALL_EXTEND_TO_SLABExtend to raft/slabTakes the wall edge to the face of a raft or a slab.

BASEMENT_WALL_3D asks:

  1. Input mode [Polyline/Segments] <S>: — an existing polyline or segments.
  2. Wall thickness BW [cm] <25>: — the thickness.
  3. Wall height H_ELEM [cm] <300>: — the height; that of the level is proposed.

Collinear walls are grouped into chains and drawn together, in a single elevation.

Cages and openings

  • BASEMENT_WALL_CAGES_INHERIT (Inherit cages) takes over the cages from the columns, walls and cages of the level above.
  • BASEMENT_WALL_CAGE_ADD (Add cage) adds a cage at a position you choose, and BASEMENT_WALL_CAGE_REBAR_SET (Cage rebar) gives it reinforcement.
  • After you move or change the walls, BASEMENT_WALL_CAGES_RESYNC (Resync basement cages) rebuilds the inherited cages and keeps the ones you added.
  • Openings are placed with Add opening in the Basement wall menu and behave as in superstructure walls.

Reinforce

Basement walls have their own reinforcement commands:

  • BASEMENT_WALL_REBAR_SET (Basement wall rebar): vertical and horizontal bars (diameter and spacing) and the cover.
  • BASEMENT_WALL_CENTURA_SET (Ring beam rebar): the height of the top ring beam (0 means none), the longitudinal bars and the stirrups.
  • Copy rebar to element copies the reinforcement to other basement walls.

What appears on the sheets

  • The general plan of the basement, with the wall names (BW01, BW02…).
  • One elevation for each chain of walls, with its sections.
  • The cage details (K), at 1:25.
  • Basement walls are always drawn per level, on the REINF_Walls sheet (ARMA_Pereti).

Good to know

  • The top ring beam is drawn in 2D only; it is not an element of the model.
  • For a wall of variable height, the vertical section stays at the nominal height; the real levels are on the elevation.
  • A wall of variable height cannot be converted to a superstructure wall.
  • If the plan comes out without wall names, run MODEL_RENUMBER.
